This solid state switch replaces the Cole Hersee Solenoid

It is much easier to connect as it will automatically connect and disconnect at 12.8 volts.

It has a built in delay for when you start your vehicle

Specs:

  • Input voltage : 9vDC to 16VDC (12 VDC Nominal)
  • Continuous current : 50 Amp +/- 10%
  • Voltage drop: 0.15V Typically at 20A,  0.4V max at 50A
  • Short circuit shutdown current: Approx 400 Amp
  • Under voltage switch OFF: Ignition <12.8V for 2 Seconds
  • Turn ON delay: 5 seconds for ignition >13.8V
  • 60 seconds for ignition between 12.8V and 13.8V
  • Over current turn OFF time: 10 seconds before auto turn ON again

Operating and Connections of solid state switch


Using 16mmsq wire

Connect ground terminal to vehicle chassis
Connect "Main Bat" terminal to positive terminal of the vehicle battery. Insert a 60A fuse into this line close to the vehicle battery.
Connect "Aux Bat" to positive terminal of auxiliary (second) battery
Red LED will blink indicating that the unit has power
LED will blink for 5 seconds if ignition voltage is >= 13.8 Volt
Led will blink for 60 seconds if ignition voltage is above 12.8 Volt and below 13.8 volt
LED will flash slow (i sec ON - 1 Sec OFF) if ignition voltage between 6V and 12.8V.
The unit will not work if ignition voltage is below 6 volt
Switch turns ON when red LED turns OFF
Red LED turns ON solid state for 10 seconds if overload occurs. During this time the switch is open
Overload turn OFF delay is approx 10 sec for 60Amp, 5 sec for 100Amp and 1 Sec for 150Amp. The switch will automatically turn ON after 10 second overload turn OFF period.

Using 10mmsqr wire

Connect ground terminal to vehicle chassis
Remove the link between the "Main Bat" and "ign" terminal
Connect the "Main Bat" terminal to positive terminal of the vehicle Battery.
Insert a 60A fuse into this line close to the vehicle battery.
Run a 1.5mmsq wire from the "ign" terminal to the 60A fuse at the vehicle battery.
Connect "Aux Bat" to positive terminal of auxiliary (second) battery
Red LED will blink indicating that the unit has power
LED will blink for 5 seconds if ignition voltage is >= 13.8 Volt
Led will blink for 60 seconds if ignition voltage is above 12.8 Volt and below 13.8 volt
LED will flash slow (i sec ON - 1 Sec OFF) if ignition voltage between 6V and 12.8V.
The unit will not work if ignition voltage is below 6 volt

Battery Monitor Terminals
The unit is provided with two battery monitor terminals that can be connected to a battery monitor.
Terminal M1 is connected to the main battery and terminal M2 is connected to the auxiliary battery.
KEEP IN MIND THAT M1 AND M2 ARE CONNECTED TOGETHER WHEN THE SWITCH IS CLOSED

Do not short battery leads
No user serviceable parts inside, return to seller if malfunctioning

Warranty
The product will be replaced or repaired if a failure occurs within one year, from the date of purchase, as result of faulty materials or workmanship provided that the product is returned to the seller with proof of purchase. Replacement or repair shall be at the discretion of the manufacturer. This warranty excludes failures which results from misuse of the product. The manufacturer and/or seller shall not be held liable for personal injury or consequential damages that may result through the use of this product. Lighting damage is excluded from this warranty.
