How to fit a Head Light Booster Cable

By fitting a head light booster kit you can improve the brightness on your vehicle.

The head light booster kit works best on most older vehicles.

Most older vehicle’s head lights are very inefficient because the wires used are too thin.

Our Head Light Booster Harness (HLBH) is a quick and easy fix for this problem.

Installation

NOTE: Installation might differ from vehicle to vehicle. If you are not sure please ask your mechanic or auto electrician to install it for you.

Unplug the head light plug at the back of the head light.

On the battery side of the vehicle plug male headlight fitting (B) of the HLBH into the original female head light fitting (A) of your vehicle..

Then plug the female headlight fitting of the HLBH (C) on to the back of the head light. See picture below.

On the side opposite to the battery you just unplug the original female fitting from the headlight and replace with the female fitting of the HLBH. You leave the original plug open. With negative switch vehicles you will use this to fix the blue light on the instrument panel, but this does not apply to all vehicles.

You will note there is a black earth wire on both sides. You have to attach this to the body of the vehicle close to the head light. On my 1999 Hilux there are two M6 holes on the cradle which I used.

Now connect the positive to the positive pole of your battery

Look for a place to attach the relays. I used a cable tie to attach them to the front cradle.

And that is it, should take you less than ten minutes.

If the blue high beam indicator light on your instrument panel is not working you know it is because your vehicle uses negative switching.

In this case you also have to buy a Negative Switching Correction Module (click here) and plug it into the unused original plug on the other side.
