Although some people traditionally liked to use yellow jerry cans for diesel and green for petrol, the coming of the black Jerry can screwed all of that up.
One color is not really more suitable for a specific type of fuel. For safety, easy identification and for those who lost their smell, the general rule is to use Yellow for Diesel and Green for Petrol.
In the modern world Black can be used for anything non-corrosive .

Fits in standard Jerrycan brackets.

With a protective coating on the inside.
