Correcting Brad Harrison Style plug Poor Connection
Over the years I saw numerous complaints from users about poor connections on the Brad Harrison type of 50Amp connectors.
You get this on all the different brands available in the market.
In my experience it is not the plug as a unit that is faulty or bad. It is the angle which the pin is bent. If you bend the pins to the correct angle before installation you will never have a connection problem. If you have already installed plugs with poor connection, remove the pins and bend them, do not try to bend it inside the casing. Most people know this, but just in case; remember, different colours do not fit on each other, use grey on grey, yellow on yellow, etc.
The short tutorial below shows you how.
If you look at the plug from the front, the bottom of the pin should align with the casing or even better the bottom of the pin must be slightly higher than the top of the casing. Like half a millimeter or even one millimeter. See picture below.

If the pin is not the correct height, remove the pin and bend it. DO NOT try to bend it inside the casing, it does not work and you just damage the casing.
Take a thin flat screwdriver and push down the spring steel clip which hooks the pin. Sometimes it is a bitch to get out, especially if the pin is bent too low. See pictures below:

The picture below shows the correct angle the pin should be bent. If it is straight, it will not make good contact. It must be bent upwards, but not too much. If you bend it too much you wont get it into the casing. See picture below:

If you have not installed the pin yet, the easiest way is to stick a bolt or screw into the back to give you more grip. In the example below I used a M5 bolt.
Then take a pair of pliers and just bend it up that little bit. Remember, too much you will battle to get it in the casing and once in you will battle even more to get it out again.
